Re: Plinky. Non-commercial sampler/granular polysynth

So after few weeks with mine I'm so happy with my Plinky ! It's really easy to create amazing music with it and a very powerful instrument on its own. It lacks a proper low pass fiter, even if you can control the low pass gate, a filter between the oscillators and the fx would have been magical !!!!...

Re: The Best Oscillator(s) You've Used 8hp Or Under And Why!

It's 10 HP but MANGROVE is the best ...
I liked the Chainsaw but sold it after few months ... I think it's the only VCO I had under 10HP

Re: A module for dark drones that eats modulation?

Maneco Labs Grone https://manecolabs.com/detalle/module-grone-drone-synth/ I wasn’t aware of this, looks deadly! I’ll drop in a vote for DPO. Tha sound is fat as anything and the wavefold output is capable of near infinite variety when used with the FM bus. All can be modulated. Benefits from some ...

Re: A module for dark drones that eats modulation?

Telharmonic was perfect for that when I had one in my rack. self-patched into FM with 5th mode, you can emulate a sunn O))) drone or distorted guitar, so easy to dark and shinning drones with the modes CW on degree or "in between" stage. I have a SWN now (sold my TH for it), but it's a different bea...

Re: Plinky. Non-commercial sampler/granular polysynth

just finished to solder mine ! Merci Mr Blond
I need to do a proper check (didn't test all the i/o) ut it works like a charm for the few hours I played with it
really blasted by this module. But I will keep it standalone for the moment.
Beautiful instrument

Re: Beads vs Clouds

I had Clouds for years, if I liked how it could transform anything into a lush pad, I never enjoyed the interface, it wasn't a module to wiggle and some sounds were very "digital". I have a Beads and I find it better. The pitch-shifted sounds less like a "cheap digital fx", it's really a fun module ...

Poor tELHARMONIC (telharmonic retired)

The tELHARMONIC is retired and nobody cares. No words, no social media from Make Noise. It was already one of their under-rated module, it wasn't often featured in their cool video, and you can count on your hands its appearances after the first promo videos. I had one for years (sold it to make roo...

Re: 9V battery to generate Offset / Manual Gate

so have an external small box, to send 8 offset variable from 0 to 5v (at least) is the idea. What I think you are describing will work, but without impedance buffers it's at the mercy of input impedances of the devices you are controlling. Which gets to be more of an issue if you mult the outputs ...

Re: 9V battery to generate Offset / Manual Gate

Thank to everyone for your replies ! it helps me a lot in my humble quest if I add a 100k pot before the resistance, I can adjust the offset from 0 to 9V right ? is it necessary to add a simple voltage regulator to clamp it to 5V ? the pot must be enough right ? (I have many modules that output more...

9V battery to generate Offset / Manual Gate

Hi, These recent weeks, I've built a lot of small passive pedals (in 125B enclosure) to go with my eurorack, nothing crazy but super useful utilities with 0HP (multiples, a big logic OR mixer, stereo attenuators, lpg ...). While reading about manual gate on Doepfer DIY page and related links, I was ...

Re: Erbe-verb or Monsoon?

I've many reverbs in my rack ... Erbeverb, FX AID, Beads and I had a Clouds years ago. Erbeverb will never be sold , it's totally different than everything else. You can use it without anything patched and create wind, waves, thunder, percussive sounds. I did a lot of sound design for films just wit...

Re: Hardware reverb unit advice needed

I do not agree on the Merys 7 ... just found it really boring ... It has a lot of good options (input / output levels, stereo ...) the quality of the pedal is great but the effects aren't very inspiring. That’s cool, but the OP likes the Lexicon 224 and the Valhalla reverbs, and that’s what the Mer...

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

The only bad point on this module is that if you don't have a good mixer before it to tame your source before FX AID (I use to mix my different voices outside the box) ... Most of my analog osc are too much for it , it cracks a lot and I need to be sure to sacrifice a VCA or mixer channel just to di...

It's like a super expansive Monotron ...
