Neat project! While I've collected and worked with quite a few TI products, I have yet to come across a speak and music locally. They seem cool. I can't help but wonder if they are anything like a Vtech Music Major (1986). I modified one of this quite some time ago, and have another one waiting for ...

Episode 101 of The Adventures of Jimmy High premier!

In just over one half hour, the first official episode of 'The Adventures of Jimmy High' will premier on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLyKlD6o2iU&feature=youtu.be I am looking forward to it, especially since four of my songs have been licensed to be used in this series. On top of that, i...

I know that this thread is a bit on the dead side, but I had to add something, since it seems like nobody had put it forward... A tube screamer, with the right modifications can do wonders with bass! I've been rewiring guitars and basses lately. Most notably is a 1991 Epiphone Precision Bass, which ...

Alrighty! I will be shipping out a cassette to each individual on the list today. Made two different 40 minute cassettes, and randomly selected who would receive which one. Turn your NR off, switch it to chrome, and turn up the volume! I turned two cardboard boxes into nine cassette mailers. Here's ...

I too have finally made progress!

Spent last night arranging and recording the masters of two different tapes. I simply need to do some duplicating and decorating, then I will be shipping these out! Planning to send at least one of the tapes to each person on the mailing list.

Yep, the cables I got from acidblue have been quality! No problems at all. Loving this foray into frac! Have built a 2LFOSH, passive ring mod with VC square carrier osc, joystick module with two arcade style buttons, a mult with 2-4 sections and bananas for external interface, and a circuit bent yam...

Thank you for the input! Those are the wrong pin spacing for frac though.

It looks almost identical to the partially populated frac setup I bought on here. The big difference is there are no rails on the sides (any more at least). Instead there are wood rails running horizontally at the top, bottom, and center - for two rows of modules. Not sure that it's exactly the same...

Excellent! Nice to hear a couple replies! Thanks!

I know that alignment can often be an issue between four track decks. My old Tascam recordings don't exactly translate properly to my Yamaha deck.

Very little left to move now! I really need to get recording again, for my health if nothing else.

So, here I go rationalizing my continued delay in sending out new tapes... I am in the process of completely relocation my electronics lab to a different room, and relocating my recording studio to the former lab. I needed far more space for recording, as I could barely move around in my previous ar...

Yep, for use in a module, the most I've seen is four per chip. This was not for exponential use either. Your mileage may vary.

I've been using it for more linear purposes. Definitely an easy way to make a utility VCO. For audio range stuff, I tend to like the feel/sound of the 4046.

Never mind. I found a bridge between two strips on the vero board and cleaning that up solved it :) That was going to be my suggestion yesterday, but I figured that you would probably find the issue. Happy that you did! I've had this problem with veroboard quite a bit, even more than protoboard I w...

I have all parts on hand besides the YM chips from China, although those are in the US according to tracking. Hopefully will start stuffing the panel later in the week. Excellent! I totally thought that I corrupted the project...

Going to be using some of the gold plated vintage IC sockets I just got free from a guy who worked for RCA and NASA back in the day. The fit is bad for some, but not others. I am so looking forward to having this module in my arsenal!

I didn't realize that I could edit the project. I may have removed a couple of the IC sockets from the cart (since I had them on hand). After realizing what I did, I quickly saved my own project for edits. Hope that I haven't caused you too much trouble. BTW, the BOM states x3 of CD4051, while the c...

Cool, thank you for the info!

I mainly questioned the 1k resistors since the mouser cart contained 50 of them. I didn't compare with the BOM which indeed has only two.

Ordered the "ym" chips today, and will gather the rest of the parts very soon.

Since there are on board regulators, it would be safe to power this from +/- 15V supply correct? +/- 15V Should be fine, just be sure to set the adjustable regulators (to +5 and -5 volts respectively) before adding the chips. You must mean adjusting to +12 and -12 V right? I just see that there is ...
