hyena - particle decelerator e.p.

https://hyena666.bandcamp.com/album/particle-decelerator this two tracker ep of claustrophobic industrial\ambient has been made with custom patches on the er-301 sound computer with a couple analog filters (doepfer wasp and sem), some delay (magneto) and reverb (big sky). it relates to the anxiety o...

Re: O|D ER-301: Sound Computer (Available Now!)

just want to re-state my love for the er-301 platform by posting one of my latest albums which was totally er-301 centric. this is noise, so not for everyone's tastes. i loved how i was able to achieve exactly what i was searching for: dynamic, almost pointillistic bursts coupled with a lot of atten...

Re: MPC Live II availability/impressions?

you know you can have separate track lengths on the mpc as well? from the track page you can tell the different tracks to loop the entire SEQ or just an arbitrary number of beats from them. of course it will reset on the normal sequence length, but if thats a problem you can create an empty very lon...

Re: Replacing Maths

i'll say Falistri, especially given you are downsizing. it can do so much with those hp's... of course no channel 2 and 3 as in maths, but add a 4 quadrant multiplier, a slew limiter, the two normalized flip flops, the extremely precise control you have on the times of the two channels...just the id...

i love my og rené (monophonic yes, but with all the logic operators goodness at its place ;D ) and use also kria on monome grid + ansible. i'm looking forward to Usta given the huge amount of features (i had the opportunity to try a prototype and the user experience is also great) and the user inter...

this and the disappearing of the great logic functions in favour of more patternish functions is the reason why i never thought for a second about upgrading my mk1 to the second version. i think rené mk1 still is an awesome original sequencer, even with the plethora of multitrack alternatives we hav...

so, i have a 199 with original tank. it should definitely output sound when you crank up the feedback even with no cables patched to its input. mine absolutely does and the out is a very pleasant droney feedback sound (tho it is really prone to pick up every kind of interference, and digital clocks ...

i think most people looking for a Sapel or VRS are not really looking for what Marbles provides. theyre certainly comparable, as 18hp complex random modules, but in practice its a far different workflow. i personally wanted a raw source of random/complex s+h and like to have the other aspects of my...

i'm maybe crazy but i love to use two different filters for the left and right channel, not only two different modulations.
that way the sound really stands out as unique!

i use an atlantis, multivoltage. at 15v i have theoretically 4,5 ampère but the max output is clamped to 3. i'm using it since about 4 years, it's great! i used to have 2 uzeus with two of those bricks powering all my 12u x 104hp rig with no noise issues and no overheating issues. now i swapped one ...

i really like the saturation of doepfer a-101-2 lpf\lpg\vca. when you crank the level up with not too much resonance in lpf mode you get a very good saturated sound that doesn't loose body on the bass\midbass range. another great one is the vca inside mutable instruments streams (analog vca\vcf unde...

the only problem with that might be that some oscillators react to both the rising and falling edge of a gate signal, hence you end up with a click when you send a trigger\gate in the sync input. i'm pretty sure my hertz donut mk2 reacts like that.

I have both Sapel and Marbles. Marbles is more powerful on its own as a generator, that's true. But Sapel outputs can be combined with external sample and holds, slews, gate delays, or with a shift register, in a modular fashion. The "more than," "less than" and non-quantized S&H outputs work well ...

I am also echoing that Marbles made me forget about Sapel completely. I have noises in the system that do the job for me and Marbles is different 3 random circuits, is a CV recorder, looper, has scales, trig outs can be completely quantised to off, deja vu feature is brilliant and generally speakin...

the slew limiter works lightly on audio signals, the useful range is pretty small, it does some nice filtering but nothing too fancy.
the nice thing to do with audio signals is having the functions track them.
try a nice drum loop into gate in of one channel and then modulate rise and fall :O
