Wow didn't know it can convert CV to MIDI.
Gonna sequence my TX81Z with my Doepfer step sequencer now.
Getting my Xpander back from the menders next week, fingers crossed it'll be all ok now.
note - from my recollection, the cv to midi is extremely limited. It is notes only, I believe.

in the process of 'converting' a mono synth to a poly synth, and i've been thinking about an Iridium. One thing that I'm currently looking for, but haven't found yet (usually i can find these right after posting the question), is what features, if any, have been added since the initial release? Re: Strymon Iridium

I would never have bought one of these, but i had the choice of having the other party put this in a trade, or else really lose out in value for the swap, so I basically said - sure, what the hell. I'll try it out. I have been pleasantly surprised. sounds good with my violin, and has sounded good wi...

Re: Recommend a reverb unit (rack or pedal) for ambient?

That Boss sounds good. Every reverb can't achieve every kind of sound, but I've never seen one that can't be used for ambient in some way or another. You can't get a Big Sky sound with a Holy Grail, but if you can't make ambient with a Holy Grail, well, maybe you just need to practise. it's tough t...

Re: Fred's Lab Töörö on Kickstarter

editor looks nice - can't actually play with all this until after work...can i assume that if it says 'Device Connected' in the lower left, that it is seeing the tooro and all is good? (not used to this - generally you have to choose the connection from a list of the midi ports). Can't wait to play ...

Re: Fred's Lab Töörö on Kickstarter

I used the installer that you emailed me last night. It looks like it worked. The tooro now comes on when not in bootloader mode, and I see 1.5 flash on the screen before it changes to the regular display.

Re: Fred's Lab Töörö on Kickstarter

i get further with the instructions linked to here, than what you emailed me. For this, i get to the dfubuddy display, and hit open (as you seem to instruct) and it just closes. no error or comment - it just closes.

Re: Fred's Lab Töörö on Kickstarter

dfu buddy seems to recognize the unit, judging by the id and memory segments info, and the fact that the device lists the bootloader, but there must be an additional step to open up the file.

The Töörö cannot be dead as the bootloader mode can always be triggered, no matter what.
Even, if the update failed in the middle.
right. sorry - edited my post. but the dfu buddy process doesn't seem to give ma any kind of a file dialogue. it just closes.

Re: Fred's Lab Töörö on Kickstarter

I assume that this is the same process as what you emailed me. After following the instructions that you sent me, and inferring that the process failed (sent you the response from the terminal), I note now that the tooro does not power on at all. It's dead. edit - it does enter bootloader mode, but ...

Re: We just launched the kickstarter for Timetosser!

this is basically what i got it for. my initial experiments were with some test rhythmic audio (from dram) and it works well for that, but i want to try it with more free form stuff.

Re: We just launched the kickstarter for Timetosser!

I found the initial setup and terminology to be quite confusing. In retrospect it looks like this is all described in the docs, but I didn't really understand it for some time. with most of my modern midi devices, if I plug in via usb, the midi is available through usb. If you are using a DAW to pro...

Re: any hardware sequencers that record/playback mpe?

thanks for that midirex recommendation. I'm arranging to try one of those out. I see no reason why I couldn't record into one of those and then apply midi fx (either through the pyrmaid, the midihub, or elsewhere). I do confess though that this might be a little more complicated than I first thought...

Nelson, can you try to
- open a terminal
- set the path to the folder containing the installer
- run the following command:
./SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2.8.0.app/Contents/MacOs/SetupSTM32CubeProgrammer-2_8_0_macos
so many things i could have done wrong. I got "No such file or directory".

Re: any hardware sequencers that record/playback mpe?

well, given that i guess it has a sequencer now, and it's an mpe instrument, i suppose there is some capacity to do this, but i have no room for one, and i think that the sequencer (from recollection) is pretty basic.
