Re: Plinky. Non-commercial sampler/granular polysynth

i have not been able to contact the builder yet. i'm honestly not sure how to proceed because they are hard to get already assembled, and the unit seems to work fine except for this. i keep on convincing myself that it's ok until it disconnects from midi again.....

Re: Sequentix Cirklon

I've had my V2 for getting on 6 months and it's superb. I have slowly got used to it rather than trying to grasp everything instantly and feel it's the best way for me. To start work, it's pretty straight forward, but when using it more deeply, thoughts on how to do things arrive and they are alway...

Re: Is this a dumb idea? (audio and midi looper)

i guess (i think someone mentioned this earlier) there is stuff like the octatrack, but i struggled so much with that 'thing' that i don't even think of it in these terms. I think that in order to make the functionality more focused on what i have in mind, it couldn't be an all in one type arrangeme...

Re: Is this a dumb idea? (audio and midi looper)

was thinking about this general topic again. I am old, but i will probably post about this periodically for years after my demise, just because that's the way I am. I am enthusiastic about a new sequencer that i've posted about elsewhere - the seq12. And i've finally gotten into using looping in int...

Re: Plinky. Non-commercial sampler/granular polysynth

spent some $ and got what i presumed to be a good micro usb cable (maker is Roland). What I'm finding is that the issue doesn't seem to be with where it is connected on the other end - maybe the mac itself is a little more reliable, but what seems to happen is with the connection on the Plinky. it l...

Re: Favorite Multitimbral VAs for complex sound design?

sorry - trying to be helpful rather than just negative, but i'm not sure wtf i would recommend given the vagueness of all this.... so much is subjective. One of the epiphanies i've had of late is that the old nords are just magical....easy to use and figure out, but maybe i'm overemphasizing the eas...

Re: Favorite Multitimbral VAs for complex sound design?

i read these threads and get confused. I've been at this for many years, but I still don't understand the lingo. Or maybe it's just used inconsistently, and people don't define their terms. what is sound design in this context (forgive me if i haven't read all of the posts)? Sometimes it is used to ...

Re: RPE SEQ12 Sequencer

.. While it is running can you create a sequence, copy it to another location, then switch to the new one to change it up, then set the two as a chain? From what I can suss, it looks like polyrhythms would be easy. the manual seems to be badly translated into English. There have been several spots ...

Re: RPE SEQ12 Sequencer

hah - ratchet track that i randomized stayed in place after i recorded over the notes. maybe that's to be expected due to the way this is set up, but still - pretty damn cool. edit - was a bit surprised at this...changed track type from mono to poly. It retained the information in the track without ...

Re: RPE SEQ12 Sequencer

ok. have only had a short time with it this evening...i recorded to it successfully. haven't tried poly tracks yet. i should do that next. and then try some copying/pasting. i must say - the more i use this, the more i like it - as i mentioned part of that is being rather mesmerized by this big thin...

about the visuals affecting the mind's interpretation of the results - yeah.once the thought enters your head that 'this looks industrial' that thought affects your thoughts as you improvise. even if you're not making industrial music per se, it affects how you are thinking and looking at the displa...

Re: RPE SEQ12 Sequencer

These are now being sold at a great (well, that is relative to lots of factors - i think it's great) price on Reverb. I suspect to my chagrin (since i love sequencers) that they may be discontinuing these. I've had about an hour with mine, and these are my initial comments.... so much goes into jamm...

the manual seems unclear as to how to actually set this up, or i might be missing it. I couldn't get anything to actually change... Did you update the firmware to the new version, which adds the input level parameter? First link (system program) on this downloads page: https://www.boss.info/us/prod...

Your charm and wit are about as effective as the HPF on your Moog mate. Thanks. Whereas several of you have said very critical things about me personall...

Re: Gibson Echoplex pro looper

I was thinking about this unit in the shower today…how I used to have one and loved it, and how it got stolen out of my practice space :waah: you mean the Repeater? it's been recommended to me, but i'd be curious to see how you can use it to do the crazy shit you can do with the EDP, Loupe, Loopler...

Re: Gibson Echoplex pro looper

my attention got diverted for a bit - researched controllers for the edp, which somehow got me into looking at the mrcc, which has been a revelation..... in any case - back to learning looping at a deeper level by far than I ever got into in the past. Kind of pathetic, since I basically have used th...

excellent, thank you! I will check those out.
