Re: NOOB! Squid Salmpler vs. Assimil8or

BTW all this Assimil8or hifi stuff over looks that it can get down and dirty too. It knows how to jump between dirty and hifi in an instant which is invaluable for me. I honestly think if I started again assimil8or might be my first euro purchase rather than my last. (Which is currently is) This is...

Re: NOOB! Squid Salmpler vs. Assimil8or

With your setup I’d get the Squid and some more modulation/utilities, which would prob work out same money as the assimilator. It sounds great (listen to some demos tho as got a lofi aesthetic), does drums well and three channels of 1v/oct for your melodies. Has the filters and envelopes built in so...

Re: Thoughts on Euro LPGs, please?

Yeah. You can ping it with a trigger/gate to get the natural decay or use an env/lfo etc to modulate the amplitude

Re: Thoughts on Euro LPGs, please?

I was considering the Tenderfoot Pinhl but went for an LxD as I would have had to import it but it now looks like Signal Sounds stock them. https://www.signalsounds.com/tenderfoot-pinhi-passive-lpg-eurorack-module Anyone tried this? Looks like an interesting choice - was thinking about a couple of ...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

Doubt you’ll regret getting one - having such a wide range of uni and bipolar mod sources, every aspect of which can be modulated, is really great. Agree that listening is the best way when making music. Though in the beginning, as there are so many options, it really helps to learn it quickly by sp...

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

Quadrax is an excellent module. If you use it regularly it’s easy to remember how it works, especially the CV assignments. Like Zegobs says, referring to the manual is very helpful in the beginning for learning the various modes/shapes. An oscilloscope is useful to fully understand it but that’s the...

Re: Pamela’s new workout with octatrack mk2

Would it work to send Gates from the mutant brain to the Pamela’s workout? Because every time I try it it doesn’t start the Pamela’s workout I’ve got PNW and would assume the basic setup is the same on the mk1 - set the MB to output a 24PPQN clock on one of its channel, with the OT sending MIDI clo...

Re: [SOLVED] Pamela's New Workout with external clocks: still trouble?

Create an audio file with the pulse and loop that
You can then offset as necessary within the clip
Warp so the tempo will stay the same

Re: Pamela’s new workout with octatrack mk2

I have a Pamela’s workout mk1 and haven’t had much luck clocking it with the octatrack and mutant brain so I’m considering getting the new workout eventually But now I’m wondering if the new workout has the same issues? What’s the issue? I’ve clocked PNW from an Octatrack via a Mulitclock so Pam’s ...

Recently picked one up and must stay it’s immediately become my favourite euro wavefolder. Both sides sound great plus the extra features make it super useful in loads of patches and when not folding.

Hi Paul. Huge thanks for continually updating the module, one of the mainstays in my racks since I got it. Would it the following be possible: More lofi algorithms - i.e. a reverb with variable sample/bit rate tail Always listening micro looper with time stretch/granular/downsampling resampling Mono...

Re: Complex Osc vs alternatives

Was thinking about the bifold vs fold6 too - haven’t got either but in terms of wavefolding they seem very similar, both offering series and parallel flavours. Fold6 is a cheaper, smaller and focuses just on that, whereas Bifold has quite a few more features at a higher cost and size. So down to wha...

Re: Suggestions for House and Hard Techno Modules

Alternatively, as you seem to be cool with using non-modular, maybe a jomox alpha base. As mentioned above the jomox kick is great and by the time you’ve bought a load of modular the alpha might get you where you want for less and really complement your existing rack. Analogue voices, sampled voices...

Re: Suggestions for House and Hard Techno Modules

I reckon, aside from adding a digital source like BI or Akemi’s Taiko, you’d be best adding a sampler, mod sources, some distortion/saturation and some sort of random/noise module. You’ve got plenty to make your own drums/percs/fx etc and avoid the standard X0X sounds (can use samples if you want th...

Re: Cosmotronic Thru Zero Complex Oscillator - Teaser

Besides the completely non-overlapping features, I gather they will contrast most when it comes to TZFM and wavefolding. I'm pretty eager to hear some more demos. Same, looking forward to hearing more. The Cs-l or Furthrrrr gen never gave me the raw tone I wanted, generally prefer my STO so was thi...
